"THE HOTTEST  SAX EVENT OF THE YEAR!"

Liverpool Sax Day is back with an action packed day for ALL sax players. There really is something for everyone - whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, we've endeavoured to make the event as inclusive as possible for everyone!

7 x SAXOPHONE WORKSHOPS:

"Novice Sax Ensemble" with Phil Shotton - don't worry about your playing/ reading ability ALL levels catered for, get your sax out and join the fun. There will also be an "Advanced Sax Ensemble" for players wanting to stretch out and play some more demanding music hosted by Phil Shotton.

"Novice Jazz Workshop" with Bob Whittaker (Blind Monk Theory?) - always wanted to do some jazz impro but don't know where to start? Bob demonstrates some nifty, simple ideas to raise your game. Expert UK saxman Dean Masser runs the "Advanced Jazz Workshop" demonstrating brilliantly effective ideas and methods. Renowned US saxman Frank Griffith (ex Glen Miller) hosts the "Big Band Workshop" with some carefully selected arrangements for ALL levels to play along with. Sam Healey runs the "Electric Sax Workshop" - an exciting modern approach to sax using samples, computers etc. backed up with prolific out of this world sax playing! Finally, UK sax star Tony Kofi gives an intimate insight to his music, particularly concerning his time playing/ recording with the late, great sax genius ORNETTE COLEMAN.

FANTASTIC LIVE PERFORMANCES: 

Sam Healey's SKELTR (amazing sax, electronics, drums), BLIND MONK THEORY? (rising Liverpool/ Manchester based contemporary sax/ trumpet led quartet), TONY KOFI QUARTET plays the music of Ornette Coleman - stellar world class players!

Plus loads of saxes mouthpieces accessories to try and peruse in the trader's exhibition.
